Adsorptive Desulfurization of Crude Oil with Clinoptilolite Zeolite

Crude oil; is a fossil fuel containing carbon, hydrogen, sulfur and many other components one of the world's largest most widely used energy sources. However, in order for crude oil to be as an source, it must refined. With use petroleum products obtained result refining, very high amounts SOx gas are released into atmosphere. These gases seriously harm both environment human health. This study aimed reduce amount its possible damages by using clinoptilolite zeolite (CZ). For this purpose, first all, CZ; was characterized SEM XRF. Then, 0.1 g, 0.5 1 2 g 5 CZ were weighed added 50 mL samples separately. The mixture mixed with magnetic stirrer at 400 rpm 60 120 minutes room temperature before going through adsorptive desulfurization step. Afterwards, separated from adsorbent centrifugation residual determined ASTM D 1552-03 method. As study, which carried out experimental laboratory environment; has been observed that efficiency varies between 0.75 5.76 % (w/v) adsorbent. Moreover; highest removal CZ.
